The focus of the workshops will be on shared leadership and active following in order to create room for expression for all and let both dance partners interact more freely and creatively in their dance. The perfect choice for people who want to go behind their role and widen their horizon of dancing!
The workshops will build up on each other – we highly recommend to visit two workshops in a row! So if you are intermediate, it makes sense to visit workshop 1 and 2. For advanced dancers we recommend to visit workshop 2 and 3. That way you will learn more, fully profit from Sheilas great teaching and experience your development. There will be a discount for people booking 2 or 3 workshops together. If that's not possible for you, you can still book a single workshop.
These workshops are meant for people who already dance Forró for at least 1 year! These workshops are not suitable for complete newbies or beginners!!

11:30 Registration.

12:00-13:30 Workshop 1 for advanced beginners and intermediate
(pre requisite: minimum 1 year of Forró dancing and participation at Anfängerkurs) -
13:45-15:15 Workshop 2 for intermediate and advanced dancers
(pre requisite: minimum 1 year or more of Forró dancing or participation at Anfänger- and Aufbaukurs or more). -
15:30-17:00 Workshop 3 for advanced dancers
(pre requisite: minimum 2 years or more of Forró dancing or participation of Intermediate- and Fortgeschrittenenkurs)
As the café of the VILLA is closed on weekends, we encourage bringing your own water bottles and possibly snacks.

There will be a picnic with free social dance outside at the outdoor dance floor at Richard-Wagner-Hain. Please bring some food to share, a blanket to chill on and lets enjoy a summer evening together dancing! In case of bad weather, the free social dance will take place at Die VILLA inside from 17:30-21:00h.
About Sheila Santos
Sheila visited Leipzig first time in 2019 and since long we wanted to bring her back! Now we are very happy that finally this moment has come!
She lives at São Paulo and is a highly sought-after dance instructor, invited to teach at festivals and partner dance events worldwide.
Sheila is the founder of Mulher que Dança, now one of the largest communities of women in partner dancing.
Since 2010, she has been researching new ways to approach connection in partner dancing, redefining the role of the Follower to be more active, creative, and musical. Her work allows dancers to experience greater freedom, expression, and connection—transcending traditional roles (Leader and Follower) to create a more dynamic, enjoyable, and communicative dance experience for all.
