Join us to discover the world of Forró, a Brazilian rhythm and couple dance!
Forró, the popular couple dance from Brazil, is now also popular in large parts of Europe. What makes Forró special is the versatility of the music and the dance. The music can be interpreted very rhythmically and dynamically, but also sensitively or playfully. Communication between the two dance partners and a feeling for the music take centre stage.
Only individual registrations are possible, as there are no fixed dance pairs.
The advanced course is intended for people who have already completed a beginners' course in Forró or who can dance the figures simple turn, chuverinho, xaxado and the basic steps.
A beginners' course will start again in the winter term 2025/26.
You decide whether you want to learn the role of leader, follower or both parts in the dance.
You don't need to bring a partner.

Teachers
Ani and Mischa are experienced dancers from Forró do Chamego Leipzig e.V. They have been dancing for multiple years and have participated in multiple forró festivals in Europe. They look forward to sharing some of their Forró love and knowledge with you!

It is possible to book the whole or half course. It is expressly desired that the entire course is attended. This ensures continuous learning and the quality of the course, as the content builds on each other. However, it is not a single workshop - so it is not a problem to miss a lesson.
Prerequisites
We want to provide a good experience for everyone and want everybody to learn as much as possible. If you concluded the beginners course, you should be able to attend. If not, you don't have to master everything, but 80% of the elements are desired. Click on a figure name to go to a video:
